I have a requirement that says "Validation test case missing" even though I have it linked to a software item spec and a test case. What am I missing?

It is likely that you also need to link the test case to the requirement too if you feel like the test case covers both the specification and the requirement. Right now, your test case is likely only testing the specification, which is why it may sort the test into the verification column.

If you navigate to the test case in Jira, go to the Tested items field and input the requirement.
