Yes, you can inherit test executions from previous versions and make them effective in the current release test plan. Navigate to the project settings and select the check box 'Inherit excluded tests' under the 'Test management' section.

This will pull in the most recent test execution from a previous version to any test case that has been excluded from the test plan.
