# Is it possible to approve uploaded release documents in Ketryx?

Yes. Approval of uploaded release documents can be enabled within project settings, under 'Release controls'. The control, 'Require approved uploaded release documents', requires uploaded release documents to be approved prior to release.

Note: [Release document approval rules](https://docs.ketryx.com/manuals/man-11-approval-rules#id-2.3.-release-document-rules) do not affect user-uploaded documents or custom release documents.
