# What is the "Reference as a used service" check box for?

Enable this check box if the referenced project provides services or functionality that your current project depends on, rather than being a simple reference or component.

Do not enable this check box if your use case requires more granular control, such as referencing only certain requirements or test cases, or if you need to trace specific relations rather than the whole service. In this case, configure the referenceable and incorporated items more selectively using filters or type-based selection.
